Request for electric scooters good practice examples

The use of mobility vehicles, for example electric scooters, is growing among older and disabled people who value the way they offer greater independence inside and outside the home.

While this is a positive and welcome trend, it can result in a number of challenges, especially in housing with communal areas designed before the widespread use of electric scooters, which do not have sufficient provision for scooters to be safely used, parked and charged.

This has led to First Wessex, in partnership with the Housing LIN, to commission Ridgeway Associates to conduct research to identify measures that can be taken to address the current restrictions on electric scooter storage and charging and enable the continued use of electric scooters in a safe way.

If erosh members have an innovative way of dealing with these challenges or have developed / implemented a related policy that you can share with us we would be most grateful if you could send us your contribution.

Thank you for any contributions you are able to make to this research and please note that the published outcomes from it will be shared across the sector.
