It has come to our notice that some of our members have been approached by contractors who have aggressively insisted that housing providers should undertake regular descaling of all shower heads and hoses in every flat in a sheltered housing scheme.
Some contractors are claiming that providers should be conducting quarterly descaling sheltered housing properties to avoid legionella outbreaks.
We have therefore produced, in association with Shakespeares Solicitors guidance for our members on what their responsibilities are.
