Housing professionals champion good practice

Our director of policy Rebecca Mollart and secretary Emma Kent joined professionals across the sector to speak at the annual CIH Older People’s Housing & Support Conference & Exhibition.

Rebecca and Emma, service manager at West Kent Housing Association, explained how erosh has changed to reflect the challenges and opportunities facing today’s older people’s housing sector and introduce erosh’s new on-line good practice resources.

They also showcased an example of good practice from West Kent HA which, in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Society, set up one ofKent’s first Dementia Cafes.

The purpose of the dementia café is to prevent and reduce social isolation for people living with dementia, their carers and families, as well as improving professional awareness and understanding and building relationships between people attending the café.

You can see both Rebecca’s erosh presentation and Emma’s presentation on the dementia café.

Key speakers at the event also included erosh chair and director of health and wellbeing at the CIH Domini Gunn, Bruce Moore, group chief executive of erosh member Hanover Housing Association, and Oliver Kamm, columnist at The Times.
