The National Housing Federation has launched a new campaign aimed at protecting housing related support for vulnerable people.
The campaign will build on the Federation’s lobbying of local councillors earlier in the year when it asked them not to disproportionately cut Supporting People funding in council budgets. As well as calling on councils to protect housing related support it is also asking them to make sure their spending in this area is transparent and accountable.
The Federation has now put out a call for case studies to help illustrate the benefits of housing support and the impact of service cuts. It is particularly interested in case studies showing the impact of cuts to local communities, and any research into the costs and benefits of services including any knock-on costs or savings to other local services.

In April 2011 the Federation organised a letter signed by 551 cross-party councillors from aroundEnglandcalling on councils to minimise cuts for Supporting People services in the new financial year.
