Erosh members and trustees attended its Annual General Meeting to look at the organisation’s success over the past year and to look ahead at tackling the challenges in 2012/13.
Guest speakers chair of erosh Domini Gunn, who is also director of health and wellbeing at CIH, and Jeremy Porteus, director of Housing Learning and Improvement Network (LIN), discussed the future of older people’s housing and support services.
Domini’s presentation Current Context – Sheltered Housing discussed how older people’s housing and support service providers can develop to tackle the economic issues, including welfare reform, as well as key areas of the Housing Strategy which will affect the sector.
Jeremy’s presentation Sheltered housing: yesterday’s need, today’s choice, tomorrow’s aspiration set the context of national and local markets for older people’s housing and support services and discussed how providers need to adapt to meet the needs of our ageing population.
Erosh’s director of policy Rebecca Mollart gave a presentation to update trustees and members on the new erosh website and its facilities for members such as the Policy and practice portal, Ask erosh and sector news and events.
Erosh welcomed new faces to the AGM as well as continuing to see existing trustees and committee members staying actively involved.
Erosh trustees Linda Milton, chief executive of Waltham Forest Housing Association, Kevin Williamson, from City ofWestminster, and Amy Swan from the National Housing Federation all remained as trustees.
Trustee Patricia Dearnaley stood down as a trustee and John Head, a housing consultant was nominated as a trustee.
Erosh also announced the launch of erosh Champion awards – Innovation and good practice for 2012. More information on the awards will be announced on the website and in our ezine soon.
